Job Description

The CMO is a key member of the executive staff and should report to either the CEO.  The CMO plays a significant role in developing and implementing the company’s long-term strategic plan, including new product opportunities, acquisitions/joint ventures, and other growth initiatives to meet the company’s revenue and earnings targets.  The CMO creates and executes a marketing plan that builds the company’s brand, including developing consistent messaging across all programs, promotions, products and services.  The CMO job is responsible for identifying, initiating, and leveraging partnerships to build awareness of the brand and drive sales through alternative channels.  The CMO develops segmentation and customer relationship models that identify targets and allow for customized marketing programs.  This marketing executive is the visible voice and advocate for the end user within the organization.  He or she directs the market research function to improve product development and new product introductions and guide the design effort, ensuring leading edge, consumer driven products and designs that meet manufacturing and cost goals.  Those in the CMO position manage outside agency resources effectively, including advertising, public relations and corporate communications efforts
The purpose of the role is to plan and implement sales and marketing activities in order to meet company targets for retention growth.
The CMO has responsibility for all areas of marketing, including sales, customer experience, public policy, media relations, promotion, web and electronic services and the corporate programs of the company.
The CMO leads marketing operations, sales operations, product management, partnership marketing, customer service and customer retention.  As part of the marketing operations, he takes care of the company's media and industry relations, advertising, interactive programs, communications as well as masket and customer research.
  • Day-to-day execution and improvement of company's marketing plan
  • Oversee the management and research teams on product development
  • Oversee and directs customer service and customer service monitoring process to ensure that customer feedback informs the development process of the product
  • Research and create product idead and areas for business growth
  • Responsible for strategic planning and development, branding, market research, customer service and sales management across global markets
  • Plan, direct and coordinate marketing budgets in accordance to organizational goals. Reviewing and approving advertising campaigns, marketing reports, vendor contracts and expenditures. 
  • Manage the development of website that serves customer, staff and partner needs
  • Handles public relations and corporate communicationsdesigned to deliver a brand consistent message 
  • Develops new and enhances existing business relationships and heightens awareness of the company 
  • Provides leadership in the design and production of all aspects of visual marketing needs
  • Generating revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Post Graduate Diploma / Master's Degree in Marketing/ Management or equivalent.
  • Preferably CEO/SVP/AVP/VP/Directors specializing in Marketing or equivalent.
  • Should have at least 7 or more years of senior leadership experience in marketing and sales management with a thorough knowledge of marketing principles, product or service management, sales and business development, along with a demonstrated track record of success and performance.
  • Ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategy and implementing the strategy to achieve pre-set objectives as determined by the marketing plan
  • Must have an experience in managing budgets effectively across multiple departments, financial reporting, setting up effective metrics and business processes
  • Knowledge and experience in retail industry may be required or preferred
  • Strong business skills, as well as outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility, drive and the ability to think on your feet are important 
  • Can identify marketing opportunities and develop success strategies to leverage them.
  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and solve problems
  • Apply modern theories of leadership, management and negotiation to real-world challenges
  • Must have a track record of new product development and demonstrated the ability to forge strategic alliances with key partners who can extend and build brand and company relevance
